The question as to if physicians have a place in prehospital emergency medicine is often portrayed as a great controversy. That implies that the results from studies comparing paramedic only systems with paramedic-doctor ones are largely conflicting and no conclusions can be drawn from them.

I don’t buy into that anymore. That is simply not the case. The evidence is pretty solid by now. Prehospital docs save lives. Especially if that doc has legendary airways skills. There is an recent editorial in European Journal of Anaesthesia on the subject. It is a good read and comes with loads of references you can use to make your point.
